Since the beginning of 2018, my father’s weight was decreasing, and at the same time, his blood hemoglobin was also decreasing. Couldn’t figure out even if shown in multiple places, what is the reason for his weight loss and decrease in blood hemoglobin? By the infinite mercy of Allah, I met Brigadier General Haque Mahfuz Sir. He suspected my father of myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) at first sight without any tests. Later we confirmed that my father had MDS after bone marrow examination. My father was 80 years old. So his sister was not able to get marrow transplant. Later my father passed away in 2019 after MDS transformed into acute leukemia. But throughout this period, my father’s treatment, under the supervision of Brigadier General Haque Mahfuz Sir, continued to the satisfaction of our entire family. The genuine love and tireless work of Brigadier General Haque Mahfuz Sir, Brigadier General Mosleh Sir, Brigadier General Mostafil Karim Sir, Lt Col Munir and Major Jayanthi towards my father while he was admitted to the BMT Center and Cancer Center of Dhaka Cantonment will keep our entire family forever grateful. Until his death, my father prayed for them a lot. Our entire family is very grateful to the entire team of Brigadier General Haque Mahfuz Sir. Their compassion towards a dying patient and their tireless efforts to render care round the clock are truly exemplary and exemplary.
